A Peck of Peppers
One thing that I love about summer in Chicago is the plethora of farmer's markets around the city. On Tuesday I was in the Loop, the financial center of the city, and the last place I thought I would stumble across a market with local produce, pastries, flowers, and other goodies. But that, I did! I picked up some tamales for dinner and perused the rainbow of chili plants at one of the stands. There were some that I had never seen before- including the Hot Pops Pepper plant with it's candy like peppers. They sort of remind me of Christmas lights!
